Monday night at 6:30pm Yoga Samadhi Studio is a fantastic all levels class.  We explore the primary series of ashtanga and vinyasa flow sequences, as well as Kundalini Yoga Meditation and pranayama from week to week! Come join this light-hearted yet slightly serious group of yogi’s for a lovely start to your week.  Ride your bike or walk on the BeltLine to class, parking is also available.  This class moves outdoors occasionally during the beautiful days of spring & summer.

Wednesday’s I like to refer to as Kundalini Wednesday’s!  A perfect mid-week class, to care for your physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.  If you enjoy yoga, treat yourself to a new experience and see where the adventure takes you.  Every class starts with warm-ups to clear and balance the chakras and then moves into a kriya for specific outcomes.  (i.e. for pelvic balance, ajnaa stimulation, disease resistance, unlocking the heart)  Expect each week to be totally different as the exercises in the kriya’s vary tremendously.  We always end with an 11 minute meditation, these meditations use mudra’s, drishti and sometimes mantra’s to deepen the meditative experience. All levels from beginner to advanced are welcome.

Highland Yoga in Virginia Highlands is where you want to go for a packed class of high energy yogis! This community grew quickly and continues to grow!  I will be there every Thursday morning at 9:3o, come sweat with me!

I love teaching at Exhale Spa on Thursday’s.  If you are in the mood for an energetic & lively class with great music in a beautiful yoga room over looking Peachtree Street, this is the class for you.  Don’t miss an opportunity to relax in one of the many amenities they offer… steam room, sauna, and the hamam.  Make a day of it and schedule a massage or facial after class!

Friday mornings are special to my heart, these classes are held in the comfort of my home in Inman Park with a group of committed ladies!  We always have room for new students, contact me directly for more details if you need them.  In the winter spots by the fireplace go first!  In the spring and summer we move outside under a big beautiful oak tree, and have plenty of space for additional people.

I am Leigh Mallis

Yoga is my true path.  In the late 90’s I found myself in a demanding corporate environment while planning a wedding.  It was then that I sought out yoga as a way to relieve stress and find deeper meaning.  It was my very first Kundalini Yoga Class that my love for the practice became clear.  I experienced a connection to the “Self” that had been lost in the distractions of everyday life in my 20’s!

As yoga brought balance and contentment into my life, I made a commitment to share the path.  After a year-long certification, I began teaching Kundalini Yoga in 2001.  I soon became interested in Ashtanga yoga, an intense practice I found to be transformational. Upon completing my Ashtanga teacher’s training in 2004 I redirected my professional energies to teaching yoga full time.

Meditation is a large component of yoga.  For ten years, I’ve incorporated different styles of meditation into my daily practice.  White Tantric Yoga at Summer Solstice in New Mexico, a three day meditation practice, is one of my favorite experiences.
I currently continue my Ashtanga practice in the Mysore traditional practice at Ashtanga Yoga Atlanta.  I have also studied and worked with Todd Roderick, Mukta Khalsa, Gurumkh Khalsa, Harijiwan Khalsa, Tej Khalsa, Bryan Kest, Shiva Rae, and many more.

Today, my husband and I enjoy a full life with our two spirited young girls.  I am passionate about teaching anyone and everyone, during any stage of life, about tuning into their inner strength and awakening to living in the now.  I currently offer private sessions, group classes, workshops, teacher training and retreats!  Follow me on Instagram @pranicsoul.

What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini is the yoga of awareness. Kundalini kriyas empower you to open your heart, release the energy from the base of your spine and work with the energy of the chakras. Kundalini challenges the body, breath and mind to create a calmness that is truly esoteric. The practice contains specific, practical tools that carefully and precisely support the mind and guide the body through the use of breath, mudra and drishti (eye focus).

Kundalini has gained traction in the United States thru the popularity of yoga as a whole. Leigh has studied many amazing Kundalini Yoga teachers across the US.  Her first teacher lives here in Dunwoody, GA.  Leigh feels so fortunate to have ended up in Mukta’s class back in 1998.  Leigh also studied pregnancy yoga with Gurmukh Khalsa.  Gurmukh has studios in Santa Monica and NYC named Golden Bridge.  Leigh completed Level 2 Training with Harijiwan and Tej on Conscious Communication in Santa Monica California. She also continues her studies every year at Summer Solstice in New Mexico.

The effects of Kundalini Yoga & Meditation are deep and energetically stay with you for days after the class.

What to expect when you attend Leigh’s class….  An incredibly welcoming group of students that are part of an ever growing community.  Leigh and a most students will be dressed in all white, as this is the color that represents the highest vibrational energy.  A lot of students will cover their head with a beautiful scarf to contain the kundalini energy.  This is not a requirement, but has become somewhat of a fashion fun statement within our group!  If you are a sensitive person effected easily by energy, I would highly recommend a head wrap.  Definitely expect to raise your awareness and consciousness within your physical, emotional and spiritual energy.
